Hello Fellow Prompters
Welcome to our Volume 3 course on prompt engineering!
Prompt engineering (PE) is the process of communicating effectively with an AI to achieve desired results. As AI technology continues to rapidly advance, the ability to master prompt engineering has become a particularly valuable skill. Prompt engineering techniques can be applied to a wide variety of tasks, making it a useful tool for anyone seeking to improve their efficiency in both everyday and innovative activities.
This course is tailored to beginners, making it the perfect starting point if you're new to AI and PE. However, even if you're not a beginner, you'll still find valuable insights within this course. This course is the most comprehensive prompt engineering course available, and the content ranges from an introduction to AI to advanced PE techniques.
Beginner-friendly; Easy; basic programming knowledge necessary, but no specialized expertise

Brief Summary of what you will master:
Intermediate
Chain of Thought (CoT)
Chain of Thought (CoT) prompting is a recently developed prompting method, which encourages the LLM to explain its reasoning.
Zero-Shot Chain of Thought
Zero-Shot Chain of Thought (Zero-shot-CoT) prompting is a follow-up to CoT prompting, which introduces an incredibly simple zero-shot prompt. They find that by appending the words "Let's think step by step." to the end of a question.
Self Consistency
Self-consistency is an approach that simply asks a model the same prompt multiple times and takes the majority result as the final answer.
Generated Knowledge
The idea behind the generated knowledge approach1 is to ask the LLM to generate potentially useful information about a given question/prompt before generating a final response.
Least to Most Prompting
Least to Most prompting (LtM)1 takes CoT prompting a step further by first breaking a problem into subproblems and then solving each one.
What's in a Prompt
- Ground Truth Matters Little
- Label space Matters
- Format Matters
Applied Prompting
Multiple Choice Questions
MCQ prompting is a technique that can be used to improve the quality of MCQs. It involves providing respondents with additional information or instructions before they answer the question.
Solve Discussion Questions
With the right prompting, GPT-3 is very capable of writing short-form responses. To demonstrate this, I will be looking at solving discussion questions, a common weekly assignment in many college courses.
Build ChatGpt from GPT-3
How to make your own knock-off ChatGPT using GPT‑3 (text‑davinci‑003) — where you can customize the rules to your needs, and access the resulting chatbot over an API.
Chatbot + Knowledge Base
A Knowledge Base (KB) is information stored as structured and unstructured data, ready to be used for analysis or inference.
